Gregory Hughes, conductor
Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker
Pyotr Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker is a staple of countless ballet companies in the United States. But the composer's most popular ballet was, at the time of its premiere in 1892, not so popular. Instead it was Tchaikovsky's music, extracted from the ballet into a symphonic suite, which became well-known and liked by audiences across the globe. Lakeview Orchestra will present the entire ballet score in a concert performance, conducted by Gregory Hughes.
