About
Alexandra Newman is a violinist and Board Member with Lakeview Orchestra. She was lured to LO in 2016 by the opportunity to perform Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" -- one of her favorite pieces. Since then, she has cherished many wonderful opportunities and experiences with the orchestra, including playing timeless masterpieces at The Athenaeum Theatre, accompanying world-class soloists, performing in benefit concerts and chamber music concerts, and building friendships with the coolest musicians in Chicago (the other members of LO!). When she is not practicing law or her orchestra parts, she is practicing scales and arpeggios, volunteering with the ACLU, going to concerts throughout Chicago, hanging out with her senior rescue dog, reading, or baking desserts.
