What’s Interesting About This Concert
Emmanuel Chabrier's España, rhapsody for orchestra was inspired by the composer's tour of Spain in 1882, and incorporates many of the traditional Spanish dance rhythms he heard during his visit.
The Chicago Chamber Choir, founded in 1996, makes their debut appearance with Lakeview Orchestra on this program.
Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem is a departure from the typical setting of a Catholic Requiem Mass; Fauré omits the usual “doom & gloom” to instead focus on peaceful existence in paradise.
This concert will last approximately 90 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission.
The appearance of the Chicago Chamber Choir is made possible by Gregory M. Zinkl & Thomas B Braham.
